I have just finished my first quilt of the New Year! I joined The Fat Quarter Shop Sew Sampler Club in December. In my box of goodies, I was sent a jelly roll 1/2 bundle of Birds of Liberty by Darlene Zimmerman. I just loved the adorable prints and cheerful colors!
I added coordinating colors to help make the quilt larger.
These were just the perfect colors for a very dark and dreary Michigan January.
The quilt top came together nicely and I decided to use a mix of the same quilt fabrics for the binding.
For the back, I thought it would be fun to add a strip down the middle of all of the quilt colors. It turned out ADORABLE!
I used the Tape & Pin method to baste the quilt. I really don't like being on the hardwood on my knees! I am going to find another basting solution next time.
VOILA! Front & back quilted and finished!
