Over this past summer, I have had a number of requests for a jewelry travel organizer bag. When I travel, I always bring along jewelry. It is fun to dress-up and wear things I normally don't wear on a daily basis. I was looking for a pattern that allowed the jewelry to be easily found, protected, and a bag that did not take up too much space. I played with a number of shapes, sizes and compartments before settling on this design.
The closure is a thin elastic band and held closed with buttons. This will allow some give for larger sized jewelry. I enjoyed shopping for unique buttons. I especially love the sparkle buttons on the RIFLE PAPER COMPANY fabric above.
The fabric below is from Sweden. This fabric by, Stig Lindberg is called Herbarium. I purchased this when I visited Stockholm with my family a few years ago. The weight and design of this fabric is beautiful and I really enjoy sewing with it.
The bag opens up to three separate sections. There are sewn zipper pockets and sections to separate and organize different sized jewelry. It folds back up neatly to fit in either a travel bag or suitcase.
All of these bags and the Charlie Harper pouch below are available for sale in my ETSY SHOP.
