I joined the I HEART YOU QUILT SEWALONG on Instagram. This has been a total blast! The pattern is called I HEART YOU QUILT by, THEN CAME JUNE and PEN AND PAPER PATTERNS. It is just adorable! This pattern is so well-written and very easy to follow. This was the first time I have joined in a sew-a-long. I have really enjoyed following the #iheartyousewalong to see all of the variations on the same quilt pattern. It was very inspiring to see everyone's creativity.
I just love LIBERTY OF LONDON fabric! I explored many different color palettes and a designs before settling on these two fabrics. I chose TANA LAWN FLOWERTOPS for the front and TANA LAWN ELOISE AQUA for the back. I also chose Kona Solids fabrics for the hearts and binding.
There are a number of fabric pieces in this quilt that are similarly sized. It was helpful to label all of my fabric to help stay organized.
I bought a new template for this project. It's called the CLEARLY PERFECT ANGLES template by New Leaf Stitches. It was a game changer! It is ridiculously easy to use and reuse. I am NEVER drawing lines again.
Look at these adorable hearts all lined up!
My first heart block!
It's starting to come together.
The quilt top is pieced and sewn.
For this quilt project, I used a professional long-arm quilting service. This family business is called FARM FRESH STITCHES and they were absolutely wonderful to work with! From the beginning of the process of picking out the patterns, following the instructions, mailing off the quilt-top, getting updates on their progress and then shipping back - I could not have been more pleased. I absolutely loved this shop and will definitely be sending off more quilt tops to them!
The final steps of making a quilt are my favorite. I love to hand-sew the binding. I find this part of the project very relaxing.
Trying to sew those corners perfectly!
I will be enjoying this quilt for years to come. Happy Valentine's Day!
