December was such a busy month! I made this quilt for my husband for Christmas. I finally have gotten around to photographing the finished quilt. This beautiful quilt is called POSTCARDS FROM SWEDEN by JELI QUILTS. It is a free pattern and uses thirty-six different Kona Solid fabrics!
I labeled each color by number. This was really time consuming, but as I got into piecing it all together, I was so glad that I took the time to do this. I really stayed organized and made only a few piecing mistakes that I was able to catch and correct quickly.
An extra step that I took with this quilt was to "square off" each half square triangle. I used the CREATIVE GRIDS 4 IN 1 TRIANGLE QUILTING RULER for this step. It was easy to use and made all the difference in piecing perfect points!
From just triangles, this quilt grew into a beautiful shape. I really enjoyed watching the quilt top come together.
Here's a picture of the finished quilt top.
For the back, I went with one of my husband's favorite colors and added a cute little patchwork heart with leftover fabric pieces.
This has turned out to be one of my favorite quilts! I absolutely love all of the bright colors and how the designer laid out the pattern.
It is a really nice size and weight. I finished the quilt with 100% cotton batting.
The quilt glows in low-light.
In the end, this was a great pattern and I was incredibly happy with how it turned out. And most importantly, my husband loved his Christmas gift!
